Paul Ryan met with mixed reaction today at the American Association of Retired Persons conference in New Orleans, LA. In front of an audience of senior citizens, Ryan spoke to what is arguably one of his toughest crowds since accepting the vice-presidential nomination.
Americans were treated to a preview of what a Romney Presidency would look like earlier in the week when the GOP nominee dismissed half of all voters, including seniors. And while it certainly isn’t easy playing to a crowd who have been labeled lazy moochers by your running mate, Ryan did not help himself or the campaign today when he flat-out lied about how Obamacare would be financed by funneling money out of Medicare.
As the Romney campaign continues to spiral out of control, one has to wonder if either candidate is actually capable of repairing any of the damage that’s already been done.
